Ohhhhh Baby!!!!!!

We are EXPECTING!!! I can hardly contain my excitement! Today we had our first of many Dr.'s appointments, and Mark and I were like kids in a candy shop. We are so thankful to our Lord and Savior for blessing us with a child...once again. Sweet baby looks perfect, and has the most precious heartbeat. My due date is May 22. Thank you to all who have prayed for us, and this baby. We are eternally grateful. Thank you Jesus for your beautiful plan. I have sono pictures, but I'll post them at a later date!

Autumn Speaks by Arlene Schwatkopf

Gather as much of the "warmth"of autumn as you can.....the beauty..... the color..... the freshness.......... the wealth of God's riches.Search out and savor themost precious leaves.......... the choice things of God.Preserve His bountiful offerings.......... seal them in memory and spirit.Treasure His gifts.......... hold them close to your heart.Receive the fullness of the season.......... and the warmth of autumn will be a strengthto you in the cold of winter."Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven....."

Guess What Matt Is Going To Be For Halloween...

RAGGEDY ANDY!!!! I just think this costume is the cutest thing I've laid my eyes on! If y'all see Mark, ask him what he thinks about it! LOL!

Matt's 2nd Birthday

Matt turned 2 on September 13th. I can't believe that he is already 2 years old. We had his birthday party at the park with family and friends. It was a lot of fun, and Matt was thrilled! Thank you to all of you that made his day so special!
This is my prayer for Matt, not only as he turns 2, but always...
(this comes from the book, The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian)
Thank You, Lord, for the precious gift of this child. Because Your Word says that every good gift comes from You, I know that You have given him to me to care for and raise. Help me to do that. Show me places where I continue to hang on to him and enable me to release him to Your protection, guidance, and counsel. Help me not to live in fear of possible dangers, but in the joy and peace of knowing that You are in control. I'm grateful that I don't have to rely on the world's unreliable and everchanging methods of child rearing, but that I can have clear directions from Your Word and wisdom as I pray to You for answers. I rely on You for everything and this day I trust my child to You and release him into Your hands.

An Answer to Prayer

I prayed that we would find his ish, and we did!!!!! Thank you God! Somehow we had dropped it in Dollar General, and they had it behind the counter. When I asked the girl if she had seen it, she immediately said, "Yes!" I started tearing up and I told her "thank you" over and over again. I think she probably thought that I was one weird momma! I don't care though.... we found it, and that is ALL that matters!!!! WoooooHooooo!

What Am I Going To Do????

Matt lost his "ish" today, and we (Matt and I) are beside ourselves. I have retraced our steps a BILLION times in my head, and I cannot for the life of me, figure out where he could have lost it. We had a really rough time tonight falling asleep. He cried and cried for it, and I cried with him. I know that sounds silly, but I did. We lost one ish about two or three months ago in Target. It wasn't his favored blue one, but he would use it when the blue one wasn't available. I went to the gift shop here that sold them(hoping that I could buy another blue one), and the owner told me that they were recalled by the company, so I couldn't even order one. After frantically searching all over the universe, I finally found two on eBay just like the one he lost at Target (they are cow print). Needless to say, Matt does not want the new ones. He wants his one and only blue one, and now it's lost. I slept by his crib until he finally fell asleep. I'm so sad for our little guy. Please pray for us. I'm afraid things are going to be a little rough around here for a little while......especially during nap and bedtime.

p.s. If you happen to see a lonely little fuzzy blue ish out there.... it has a home :(

"No... I Don't!"

That's what you'll here all day around our house. Anything I ask of Matt, that is his response. I'll ask, "Hey Matt, do you want a snack?" "No... I don't!" "Matt, do you want to go play?" "No... I don't!" "Let's go take a bath!" "No... I don't!" It's so funny to me because I know he wants to do these things. He finds it a lot more entertaining to argue though. I just have to laugh. Why is it that when they turn 2, they have to become defiant and argumentative? It's so annoying, yet so darn cute!!!

Starting Him Early

I bet you didn't know that Matt is playing football for A&M this year. No.... REALLY!!!!! Check it out. Go to http://www.aggieathletics.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/tam-m-footbl-mtt.html and look at the 2nd name on the roster. Waaaaaaay Cool! We're having so much fun with this one!!!

Just a Slice of Daily Bread...

*a beautiful river in Red River N.M.*
The Promise of the Holy Spirit
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let them come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." John 7: 37-38

Texas Flour Tortillas

This is for you Mexican food junkies out there! Mark and I LOVE... I mean, L-O-V-E Mexican food! We'll travel far and wide just to eat good Mexican food. With that being said, it's really hard to find good flour tortillas around here. And, if your like me, I'd rather not fix Mexican food at all than to settle for store bought tortillas that taste like cardboard. Ha ha! This is the best, and easiest recipe I have found (to date). I haven't failed with this one yet. So yummy...Enjoy!

Texas Flour Tortillas

2 C flour

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

2 tsp veg. oil

3/4 C warm milk

*Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and oil together. Slowly add warm milk. Stir until ingredients form a loose, sticky, ball. Knead for 2 minutes on a floured surface. The dough should be firm and soft. Place dough in a bowl and cover with a damp cloth for 20 minutes. Break off 8 sections, roll into balls, and place on a plate. Cover with a damp cloth for 10 minutes. Roll out until about 7 inches diameter. Cook on a hot surface (cast iron flat pan works best).

We're Interested...

in potty training, that is! I say "we" like it includes the whole family, but I think I'm the only one NOT ready to tackle this milestone. Is it just me, or is potty training a HUGE thing? I don't even know where to begin, and I refuse to read a book. I did plenty of that while I was pregnant and soon learned that most parenting books are just plain, silliness. This is our potty scenario... Matt says to me, "potty", and then we go SIT on the potty. He doesn't do anything, he just sits. So..... now that he's interested, I need all the help I can get. For you moms out there who are now experts at this, I would LOVE some tips. Thanks!
