Big Boy Bed
We converted Matt's crib into a big boy bed yesterday. He was sooooo excited to sleep in it! He informed me last week that he wanted a Buzz Light Year bed like Andy, so I found him some really cute Toy Story sheets. He went to sleep like a champ, and didn't get up once. I was so impressed! My little boy is growing up. Mark was surprised that I wasn't emotional about it all. I was excited for him too!

Smiling
Mallary has started smiling at us this week, and boy does it melt our hearts! When she first smiled at me, I called Mark on the phone and said, "Mark, you're not going to believe this, but she's smiling at me!" He said, "Are you sure it's not gas?" I was for sure it wasn't gas! A mommy knows! I was so excited to catch her smiling with the camera. Now I had proof! When she first smiled at Mark, he was a big ball of mush! It was precious seeing his reaction. I will never forget it! He joked about her saying, "Daddy, will you buy me a shiny new mustang?" And he responded, "Sure honey.... what color? Little bundle has her Daddy wrapped around his finger! Love it!
By the way.... she is a spitting image of her big brother!

His Voice
After a c-section, and while the Daddy takes the baby to the nursery, there is a period of time (probably 30 minutes or so) that you are there in the operating room all alone. I dread this time more than anything in the world. It was especially hard for me this go around because I was not able to go to sleep while they were finishing things up. While I was lying there listening to my Dr. and the nurses, I felt an overwhelming peace come over me. I could literally hear my Dad's voice. I can't explain it, but I could hear him sigh and say, "Ohhh Brandea"...just as if he had seen Mallary for the first time. It was his proud Poppa voice. I know it may sound silly, and some might say it was the anesthesia making me feel this way, but I know that was my Dad's voice. Thinking about it now almost takes my breath away. I choose to believe that God allowed my Dad to be there in that moment, and that God was showing His love to me by allowing me to hear his voice.

To My Man
Since Father's Day is quickly approaching, I wanted to post something to my man...
You are truly the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am so lucky to get to spend a lifetime with you. Thank you for your unconditional love. We love you more than words can express. Happy Father's Day Mark. You are the best Daddy in the world!! xoxoxox B, Matt, and Mallary
Godparents Are A God-Send
We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such a wonderful church family that loves and supports us through life's journey. When we found out that we were pregnant with Mallary, there was no question who we wanted to be the Godparents for this child. We have become so close to Mona and Alfred, and are so thankful to have them in our lives. We love you guys! Thank you for your prayers and support as we raise our precious daughter to be the woman God wants her to be.

Not So Crazy About Bows
Well.... this is just my luck. I've always said, "The bigger the bows, the better," and Mallary definitely has some big-O-bows! The problem with that is, she is not so crazy about wearing them. Ugggghhhhhh! It seems like every time I go to put one on her head, she starts crying. I'm not going to give up just yet. She's going to like them if I have anything to do with it! Lol!
(Mark really gets a kick out of this because he think bows are ridiculous.....WHATEVER Mark :D !!!!!
Swimming Lessons
Matt started swimming lessons this week. So far he has done pretty good. Today he didn't really want to go, but after some bribing, he was fine with getting in the water. He isn't afraid of the water at all. In fact, all he wants to do is go down the slide. He actually went down on his own, and I was shocked! The only thing he complains about is being cold. Hopefully by the end of the week, he will be used to the water. I've really enjoyed this because while we are at lessons, Mary comes out to watch Mallary. It's nice having a little Matt and Mommy time.

Grown' Girl
We took Mallary to the Dr. today for another little check-up, and she has gained close to 2 pounds since we've brought her home. Here are some recent picture of our growing baby girl.
