Pictures

We just ordered a composite of Matt's pictures taken by Pam Lary. You can click on this link to check it out: http://www.mattallen.photoherald.com/
This expires on Feb. 2, so there is only a short amount of time to view it. Pam will be doing baby girl's birth announcements in June, so we are very excited to see her work with her. We'll keep everyone posted!

All About Matt

I feel so guilty that I haven't posted anything about Matt here lately. I've been without a camera since before Christmas and it's about to KILL me! Don't everyone fret though.... I'll catch up with the picture taking as soon as I get my new camera!!! Matt is all but about 28 1/2 months old, and lively as ever. He talks non-stop, and says the funniest things! He is really getting into this baby sister stuff, and I think he is going to be so sweet with her as soon as she arrives. We ask him what baby sister's name is and he says, "big-o-bow in her hair." It is so funny! He weighs 31.8 lbs and wears size 8 shoes. It is so amazing to me how fast they grow. Here are some things he likes to do:
  • play with play-dough
  • wrestle
  • sing
  • puzzles
  • play outside
  • watch Little Einsteins
  • eat Cheetos and oreos (he's not picky when it comes to those)
  • ride his 4-wheeler
  • talk

Girly Girl

Today we officially bought our first baby girl item....bedding! As soon as we found out that we were going to have a girl, I wanted something super fun, and super girly. Mom had bought me a zebra print area rug to go in my dining room a while back, but it didn't quite go. I wanted something with zebra in it so I could use it. I think it will go perfect!

Oh The Wonderful Memories

Dad playing with me on the floor (1980)

Dad when he was 4. I think he looks a lot like Matt

I'll probably be posting a lot of these scanned pictures as I come across them. We have been going through some of our old pictures, and these are just a couple of my many favorites. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

We are having a................

GIRL!!!!!!!

All along I just knew that we were going to have another boy. It just goes to show you that I don't know what I'm talking about. They day was perfect. We were surrounded by family, and I know that Daddy was in heaven rejoicing with us. We are truly blessed, and very thankful. Here are some sono pictures of sweet baby girl (they are scanned images, so they are very hard to make out....sorry).

A Beautiful Man

All you saw was pain
All you saw was rain
But you should see me now
Moments filled with tears
Lasted all those years
Disappeared somehow
You never said goodbye
On your knees you cry
You’re still asking why,
but Blue has never been bluer
True has never been truer
Honey never tasted so sweet
There’s a song in the breeze
A million voices in praise
A rose has never smelled redder
The sun has never been brighter
If I could find the right words to say
If you could look at my face
If you could just see this place
You wouldn’t cry for me today
What you think you see
Isn’t really me
I’m already home
You’ve got to lay it down
‘Cause Jesus holds me now
And I am not alone
Your faith is wearing thin
But I am watching Him
And He’s holding you too, and
Chorus:
What may seem like years will just be a moment
Oh, the day will come when I’ll show you where you’re going
I can’t wait to show you that
Chorus:
(1 Corinthians 13:12, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

Dad's Obituary

You can click on this link to view my Daddy's obituary. It seems so silly to sum up his life in just a few words, but I think this pretty much says it all. I love you Daddy.

To My Daddy

This was the letter I wrote to my Dad to be read at his funeral:

Thank you so much for loving me the way that you did for 29 years. You were everything that a girl needs in an earthly father. You were always there for me no matter what. You never failed me. There are so many memories that I hold dear to my heart, but one that stands out is when you walked me down the isle. What a perfect moment in time! I remember that look in your eyes, and Daddy, I was so proud to be walking hand in hand with you. You were like another dad to Mark, and he loved you so much. Matt loves his Poppa. You were so much fun! I know that your memory will live in his heart as well. I will always love you with all of my heart, and I can't wait for the day when we worship at the feet of Jesus together.
